 Selling an original item. Q. Can you sell an imitation item as original or sell at an original price? A. No. It is unlawful to sell an imitation item as an original one. This is deception and hence, unlawful in Islam. The price must be in accordance to its market value. If the imitation product is being sold by all traders at that price then it is permissible to do so. However one should not do so to deceive the person into believing that the imitation product is actually the original one. And Allah knows best. Mufti Waseem Khan |
