 Snakes and Ladders and Monopoly. Q. Can a person play games involving the use of dice, e.g. snakes and ladders and monopoly? A. In general, the jurists of Islam have considered those board games as disliked (Makrooh) which have no benefit in them and it is mearly a wastage of one’s time. Additionally, it would be even more disliked if such games are from those which people use as a means of gambling like that of playing cards etc. Educational games such as monopoly, scrabble, etc. will be allowed.
