HALAAL INFORMATION
a) A recent visit to Burger King revealed that most of the products there are NOT suitable for consumption by Muslims, including the fish burgers, onion rings and honey mustard sauce.
Halaal products include - drinks, vege-burgers, fries, condiments and desserts.
b) Erin Farms Beef Ham. This product, which is made by Erin Farms Ltd., is made utilizing imported Halaal Beef from Uruguay. The additives and curing agents used are halaal, however, the curing of this ham is done in the same smoke houses as pork and non-halaal chicken. As such, due to the high risk of cross contamination Muslims are advised to be cautious in consuming this product.

KFC
- The Darul Uloom Halaal Committee advises the Muslim public that in the past we have approved KFC based on the fact that all their chicken and chicken products were supplied by Arawak.
- The popcorn chicken presently served at KFC is not supplied by Arawak. As such a possibility exists that this product is not Halaal and by extension all chicken fried in the same oil.
- We will continue discussions with the company in this regard.
- Muslims are advised to exercise caution until this matter is resolved.

- Subway (Price Plaza Branch) is presently not certified as Halaal until further notice. This became necessary because they have changed their Halaal supplier and are in the process of locating another Halaal supplier.
- The company has given us the assurance that they are presently trying to rectify this situation.
