Q. I hear we are allowed to celebrate birthdays but we can get blessings by doing other stuff like giving to the poor and needy. Is it possible for you to do both things and still get full rewards?
A. It is not permissible for Muslims to celebrate birthdays. However, it is allowed to do charitable works like giving to the poor and needy, etc. One will get a great amount of blessings in doing / giving charity and helping the poor and needy.
